TRAINING DIVISION
“Excellence
through Training”
The
Training Division is led by Lieutenant Edward O’Leary, the longest
standing member of
the Training Division. Also assigned to the training Division
is Lieutenant John
Courtney, Lieutenant George McNeil as well as
Officers Dennis
Crowley, Richard T. Hughes and Michael Tuitt.
The
mission of the Training Division Staff is to provide the officers
of the Randolph
Police Department with the best possible training available
with the goal that
all officers have the highest levels of proficiency and confidence
in their training
and abilities. Insuring that all training is done in the safest manner
possible is a top
priority.

All
officers attend a 40 hour in-service training class once a year
taught
by the Municipal Police Training Committee, which operates
under
the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety. In addition,
many
officers are sent to specialized training throughout the year,
such
as drug identification and interdiction, accident reconstruction,
gang
activity, sex crimes investigation as well as many others.
